- Utilize specialized instructional materials, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility techniques to foster independence and academic progress.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and families for consistent support and guidance.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as necessary.
- Support the creation of an inclusive environment where visually impaired students can thrive alongside their peers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Previous experience supporting visually impaired learners, ideally within a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and educational modifications for visually impaired students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A passion for engaging and empowering young children with visual impairments.
