Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)

  • Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility and provide direct instruction in the expanded core curriculum
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to a caseload of preschool-aged students with visual impairments
  • Assess students’ needs using formal and informal measures to help develop suitable educational and behavioral strategies
  • Offer consultative support to classroom teachers and families, ensuring each student's full participation and engagement
  • Design, modify, and implement adapted curriculum and tactile learning materials
  • Monitor progress and maintain clear records to inform educational planning and reporting
  • Contribute actively to IEP meetings, guiding teams on best practices and accommodations for each student
  • Provide guidance in developing orientation and mobility skills for young learners
