Key Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky SPED License with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or have low vision
- Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology tools for visual impairment
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and adapt curriculum and materials to meet individualized educational plans
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and implement appropriate instructional strategies and modifications
- Produce and adapt teaching materials, including Braille and large print, to ensure accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Track student progress, complete documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
