Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) is required.
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Demonstrated experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in 1:1 or specialized roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Adaptable, proactive, and resourceful with a patient, student-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student in a long-term 1:1 setting.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to design and implement effective learning strategies.
- Adapt curriculum materials to support accessibility, ensuring that materials and activities are tailored to the student's needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly evaluating and adjusting instruction plans as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute insights to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that nurtures student growth and independence.
