What you’ll bring:

  • National-level certification in Braille transcription, such as from the Library of Congress or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Braillist, especially in educational settings
  • Strong familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive devices for visually impaired students
  • Proficiency in producing accessible classroom materials and supporting individualized education plans
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to work onsite, with potential for virtual engagement as needed

Your key responsibilities:

  • Transcribe educational content, textbooks, and instructional materials into Braille
  • Prepare customized tactile resources to support instruction for visually impaired learners
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and class materials based on student needs
  • Offer guidance on using adaptive and assistive devices to facilitate student participation
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with relevant educational standards
