You’ll be working onsite—with the possibility of some virtual engagement—serving a diverse caseload and fulfilling day-to-day Braillist and instructional duties from August 7 through September 7. Your expertise and dedication will play a vital role in empowering students to succeed.
Your background should include:
- National Certification from the Library of Congress (LOC) or a comparable authority
- Previous experience as a Braillist, transcribing print materials into accessible formats
- Familiarity with the educational needs of students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
- An adaptable and proactive approach to meet evolving classroom needs
Key responsibilities will involve:
- Producing and proofreading Braille materials for classroom and individual use
- Supporting direct instruction and accessibility solutions for visually impaired students
- Consulting with teachers regarding student needs and appropriate instructional resources
- Maintaining records and ensuring timely delivery of accessible materials
- Assisting with technology and tools that support visually impaired students’ learning
