Make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026-2027 school year. This rewarding, full-time contract position serves schools in the greater Phoenix, AZ area, providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an itinerant capacity. The assignment runs from now through May 25, 2027, with flexible start and end times based on your assigned campuses, generally within an 8am-4pm window.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Arizona teaching license with current TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) endorsement
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in school settings preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills for collaborating with staff and families
- Ability to adapt to different school environments as an itinerant service provider
- Dedication to fostering independence and academic success for students with visual needs
Role responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, consultation, and adaptive support to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites
- Assess students’ educational needs and help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Serve as a resource for school staff regarding accommodations, assistive technology, and curriculum modifications
- Maintain up-to-date records and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress
- Travel between assigned campuses within the Phoenix area during the school week
