Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Arizona teaching license with a TVI endorsement required
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school-based settings preferred
- Skilled in developing and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different campuses as assigned
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant TVI for multiple schools within the district, supporting students ages K-12
- Assess students’ needs and provide instruction in braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and adapted materials
- Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to develop and implement appropriate accommodations in the classroom
- Monitor student progress and maintain up-to-date records, adhering to IEP goals and state requirements
- Offer guidance and professional development to fellow educators regarding best practices for visually impaired learners
