Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active TVI license in the state of Virginia
- Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create and adapt instructional materials for diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille (preferred, but not required)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
- Consult and collaborate with educational staff and families to support student inclusion and success
- Assess students’ needs and monitor progress to adjust strategies accordingly
- Provide direct instruction in areas such as Braille, use of assistive technology, and orientation & mobility (as appropriate)
- Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with IEP goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
