Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Endorsement in Blindness & Visual Impairments (required)
- Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized instructional plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for fostering independence and academic growth among visually impaired students
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services for students with visual impairments
- Conduct specialized assessments and interpret results for team planning
- Mentor and support classroom teachers in adapting curriculum and materials
- Prepare and provide accessible materials and resources
- Participate in multidisciplinary IEP meetings, contributing specialized expertise
- Advocate for the use of assistive technology and orientation/mobility supports
