A specialized role is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services in a school setting, supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade. This position offers flexibility with options for virtual or onsite work, tailored to accommodate the schedules of a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). The caseload is intentionally small to allow focused, individualized attention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy services to students with communication disorders within the Pre-K to 8th-grade range
  • Collaborate effectively with the visually impaired teaching team to coordinate schedules and maximize student support
  • Conduct therapy sessions either virtually via telehealth platforms or onsite, ensuring adherence to best practices and HIPAA compliance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy plans
  • Engage in ongoing communication with school personnel and families regarding student progress

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification (CF or SLPA candidates are not eligible)
  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly those with visual impairments, is advantageous
  • Ability to manage a small caseload efficiently
  • Familiarity and openness to using VOCO technology for speech therapy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams

Location: This contracted position serves a school in Columbia, South Carolina, operating within school hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. The part-time schedule involves approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust based on collaboration with the TVI schedule.
