Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - SC
This opportunity is designed for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) skilled in working with visually impaired students, offering flexibility through telehealth or onsite services. The role supports Pre-K through 8th grade learners with a small caseload, allowing for focused, personalized care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to students from Pre-K to 8th grade, addressing communication needs related to visual impairment
- Deliver services virtually or onsite, adapting to student needs and schedules
- Collaborate with Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to align schedules and optimize service delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Participate in interviews and share availability promptly
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (no Clinical Fellowship or Speech Language Pathology Assistant credentials accepted)
- Experience working in school settings with visually impaired children preferred
- Ability to work part-time, approximately 15 hours per week, with potential schedule adjustments
- Comfortable using VOCO communication devices and methods
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Availability during standard school hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.)
