A contract position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher providing telehealth services in the Queen Creek, AZ area. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments through virtual platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments to determine students’ educational needs related to visual impairments.
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students.
- Delivering high-quality, engaging remote lessons using telehealth technology.
- Collaborating with parents, educators, and related service providers to support student progress.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress in alignment with educational goals.
- Providing training and resources to caregivers to support student learning outside of sessions.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children who have visual impairments in educational settings.
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms and the ability to effectively deliver instruction virtually.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodations relevant to visual impairment.
