Starting August 31, 2026, and continuing through June 17, 2027, you’ll empower students by delivering individualized vision services across a close-knit cluster of schools, with assignments tailored to your unique skills—especially if you have advanced Braille expertise.
What You'll Bring:
- Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certificate with Vision endorsement
- Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proficiency with Braille instruction (highly preferred)
- Flexibility to serve as an itinerant TVI, adapting to diverse student needs across multiple campuses
- Strong communication skills for effective participation in virtual IEP meetings
- Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including House Bill 486 district background check and fingerprinting
Your Day-to-Day:
- Provide direct vision services as determined by student IEPs
- Collaborate seamlessly with a supportive team of fellow TVIs and Orientation & Mobility specialists
- Attend all IEP meetings virtually while stationed onsite
- Coordinate service delivery efficiently, with most assignments grouped geographically to streamline your schedule
- Tailor your caseload and travel based on your Braille skills and teaching strengths
