Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience developing and adapting instructional materials for students with visual impairments
• Proficient in conducting functional vision assessments and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Skilled in providing direct and consultative services in a school environment
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity with assistive technology for visually impaired learners is highly valued

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, supporting the achievement of IEP goals
• Adapt curriculum materials using Braille, large print, or audio formats as needed
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, orienting staff to students’ needs and appropriate accommodations
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies
• Provide guidance on orientation and mobility skills, empowering students toward greater independence
• Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with district and federal standards
