Qualifications:
- Current valid state and educational licensure for Assistive Technology Specialist.
- Expertise in assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
- Experience in conducting functional evaluations and creating individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong collaboration skills for teamwork with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and classroom educators.
- Prior background working with diverse K-12 student populations preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evaluations and consultations for curriculum modifications and classroom accessibility using AT or AAC devices.
- Support classroom staff in implementing assistive technology to maximize student engagement and learning.
- Perform comprehensive functional assessments, develop IEPs, and monitor student progress throughout the school year.
- Connect and consult with related service professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Maintain thorough documentation, manage due process requirements, and provide ongoing training as needed for staff.
