Assistive Technology Specialist Therapist (AT) - San Mateo, California

Required Experience and Qualities
- Active, valid state and educational licensure for Assistive Technology
- Background in evaluating, recommending, and implementing assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Demonstrated skill preparing and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Experience conducting functional assistive tech evaluations for students with varying needs
- Strong communication and collaboration with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education staff
- Ability to provide consultation on curriculum modifications and access strategies
- Comfortable traveling between multiple school sites as part of an itinerant support team
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive AT and AAC evaluations, including detailed documentation and recommendations for K-12 students
- Consult with teams on classroom accessibility and curriculum modifications tailored to individualized learning
- Develop and update IEPs, ensuring alignment with student goals and ongoing progress monitoring
- Serve as a resource on AT best practices for staff and education partners
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expert input for due process management
