Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state licensure and required educational credentials for Assistive Technology.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing and evaluating Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
- Experience conducting functional evaluations and writing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students across K-12 grade levels.
- Previous work within a school-based or itinerant support setting highly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive AT evaluations and provide actionable recommendations for curriculum adaptations and classroom accessibility using the latest technologies.
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators to support and foster student independence.
- Draft and monitor IEPs focused on integrating appropriate AT tools.
- Offer ongoing consultation to school staff and families about device selection and instructional strategies.
- Track and report on student progress, ensuring compliance with due process requirements.
