1:1 Pediatric Assistive Technology Specialist Therapist (AT) - Pasco, WA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a dedicated school-based professional working one-on-one with a pediatric student requiring specialized medical attention. This full-time, 1:1 assignment runs approximately from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and is perfectly suited for a Registered Nurse with experience supporting students with complex healthcare needs and an interest in assistive technology.
In this pivotal role, you are responsible for delivering continuous, individualized nursing care and proactive health support. You will accompany the student on special education bus transportation, assist throughout the academic day, and be present during all school-related activities to promote safety, participation, and health stability. Your clinical expertise will be central to providing both compassion and technical support, enabling the student to thrive within their educational environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Background working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged individuals with complex medical needs
- Experience with assistive technology, including assessment and implementation, is highly desirable
- Ability to execute individualized healthcare and emergency plans as outlined by providers
- Capacity for independent, effective decision-making in fast-paced, school-based settings
- Current CPR/AED certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer daily nursing care and supervision, including medication administration, monitoring, and medical procedures
- Support and facilitate safe transportation to and from school for the student
- Collaborate routinely with educators, healthcare providers, and family to adapt care to evolving needs
- Promote student participation in classroom and school activities by utilizing and instructing in assistive technology when needed
- Maintain comprehensive, confidential health records and documentation of care provided
