1:1 Pediatric AT Specialist Therapist | Richland, Washington
Looking to channel your expertise in assistive technology and pediatric care in a dynamic school environment? This full-time contract opportunity offers a meaningful way to directly support a student with complex medical needs. As a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the student’s safety, well-being, and access to their educational program throughout each school day.
Your responsibilities will include consistent, individualized nursing care both in the classroom setting and during all school-related activities. You will provide hands-on clinical support and supervision during transport on the special education bus, throughout the school day, and during extracurricular events. Collaboration with educators, healthcare providers, and families is essential to ensure seamless care and to adapt interventions as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington
- Previous experience in pediatric nursing, preferably within school or 1:1 settings
- Proficiency with assistive technology and strategies for supporting students with complex health needs
- Current CPR, First Aid, and relevant nursing certifications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, attentive, and adaptable in dynamic school environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver continuous, individualized nursing care to a student with significant health needs from approximately 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM each school day
- Administer medications, treatments, and monitor vital signs per medical orders
- Facilitate the use of assistive technology and support access to curriculum
- Maintain thorough documentation, communicate effectively with staff and families, and respond to emergencies as needed
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the care planning process
