Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Valid state licensure and appropriate educational credentials in assistive technology or related fields
- Demonstrated proficiency with assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students with diverse learning or accessibility needs
- Skilled in conducting functional evaluations and contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Effective communicator who thrives in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams (including OTs, PTs, and educators)
- Comfortable traveling between school sites to provide itinerant support
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate student needs and environments to recommend AT or AAC devices and curriculum modifications that promote access and engagement
- Consult with teachers and staff to enhance classroom accessibility and support instructional adaptations
- Conduct and document thorough, legally compliant evaluations and ongoing due process management
- Develop and update individualized education plans, monitor student outcomes, and adjust supports as needed
- Collaborate with related service providers to create holistic support strategies
