Teacher of Visually Impaired - Adams, MA

This full-time opportunity offers the chance to provide both direct instruction and consultative services for preschool and K-12 students. As an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you’ll collaborate with educators and families to make educational experiences accessible and enriching.
Enjoy a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, working directly within school settings near Adams, MA. You'll take on a valuable role by delivering specialized instruction and, if qualified, orientation and mobility services, all while playing a key part in fostering success for students with unique learning needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification as a Teacher of the Blind/Visually Impaired
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- At least three years of experience working with students with visual impairments
- SEI Endorsement
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and creativity in developing effective individualized strategies
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction in academic and functional vision skills
- Collaborate with school teams to create inclusive learning environments for students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Offer consultative and support services to teachers and families
- If certified, deliver orientation and mobility instruction to help students develop safe independent travel skills
