Teacher of Visually Impaired in Attleboro, MA

Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current and active Massachusetts Visually Impaired License is required
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a school-based setting preferred
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and educators
- Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility best practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative support to students with visual impairments throughout the school day
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Assess and monitor student progress, making data-driven recommendations for instruction and accommodations
- Advocate for appropriate materials, assistive devices, and accessible resources within the educational setting
- Facilitate communication between families and school personnel regarding student needs and progress
