Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Adrian, Michigan

Working with K-12 students, you’ll serve as a vital consultant, collaborating closely with educators and providing specialized instruction and guidance to ensure students with visual impairments can fully participate and succeed in their school environment. Ideal qualifications:
- Valid MI TVI License required
- Previous experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired preferred
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to accommodate visual needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, students, and families
- Organized, reliable, and self-motivated – comfortable managing caseload responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with school staff and families to implement appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations
- Support classroom teachers by recommending adaptive equipment, materials, or techniques
- Monitor student progress, assess needs, and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
- Foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students
