Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California credential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired children in an educational setting

  • Strong communication skills for effective partnering with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, using adaptive methods and materials
  • Consult with classroom teachers and teams to support appropriate accommodations
  • Contribute to IEP process, providing input and evaluations for visually impaired students
  • Stay current with best practices and innovative technology to support student learning
  • Advocate for student independence, inclusion, and access to all educational activities
