Step into a vital role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a school-based setting. This part-time contract opportunity allows you to make an impact while maintaining flexibility, with hours varying based on your interest and expertise: 20 hours per week if comfortable with Braille instruction, or 7-8 hours weekly if not.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia TVI licensure/certification required
- Active Georgia Educator Certificate required
- Experience working in school-based visually impaired programs preferred
- Familiarity with Braille and Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) is a plus
- Experience supporting students in ASD/severe needs classrooms is an advantage
- Comfortable participating in IEP meetings and progress monitoring
- Reliable transportation
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct TVI services to students in accordance with IEPs
- Deliver Braille and ECC support as needed, helping to cultivate independence and academic success
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, sharing insights on student progress
- Monitor and document student growth, engaging in ongoing assessment
- Support Medicaid billing requirements when applicable
- Work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
- Both in-person and VOCO (virtual) candidates will be considered
