Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- Proficiency in Braille and specialized instructional strategies and adaptive technologies preferred
- Dedication to fostering student independence and inclusion
What You'll Do:
- Assess student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to ensure access to the curriculum
- Adapt materials and use assistive technology to facilitate learning
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school community
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Provide training to staff on accommodations and accessible resources
