Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Prior experience working with students who have visual impairments
- Knowledge of current assessment tools and adaptive technology for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with educators, families, and support staff
- Organizational skills and adaptability to meet individualized student needs
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement instructional strategies tailored for visually impaired students
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to meet students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct and consultative services to students across multiple grade levels
- Utilize and teach adaptive technologies and devices that promote access and independence
