Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or Visually Impaired Teacher
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments is preferred
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and accommodations for visually impaired learners
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Assess student abilities and adapt curriculum, materials, and methods as necessary
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to facilitate student success and inclusion
- Teach skills to promote independence, including orientation, mobility, and use of assistive technology
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including IEPs and progress reports
- Offer guidance and resources to families to support their child’s educational goals
In this role, you’ll receive pay at $45+ per hour, reflecting the expertise you bring to the classroom.
