Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with specialization in Visual Impairments
- Experience working in school settings with students who are visually impaired preferred
- Strong knowledge of Braille and adaptive technology for visually impaired learners
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials for various levels of visual impairment
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop student-centered strategies
- Adapt and create accessible educational resources using Braille, tactile graphics, and assistive technology
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and modify services as needed
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion across the school community
- Participate in IEP meetings, team consultations, and professional development opportunities
