Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

- Strong knowledge of Braille, adaptive technology, low vision devices, and accessibility strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, students, and families
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting materials and instruction for diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in specialized areas such as Braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and educational teams to adapt curriculum and develop accessible resources
- Evaluate students’ functional vision and learning needs through ongoing assessments
- Offer guidance and training to staff and family members to foster inclusive and supportive learning environments
- Maintain detailed records, progress reports, and required documentation
- Consult with outside agencies or specialists as needed to enhance student support
