Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory
- Experience or passion for working with pediatric students in a 1:1 setting
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, able to effectively liaise with educational staff, families, and outside specialists
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs tailored to each student’s needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to visually impaired students on a 1:1 basis
- Collaborate closely with school staff and families to assess needs, set goals, and track progress
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials using appropriate assistive technology and instructional techniques
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school setting, ensuring accessibility and equal opportunities
- Maintain detailed records on student performance and adjustment of education plans as required
