Bring your expertise as a Licensed North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with O&M endorsement and join a dedicated environment focused on student empowerment. The assignment spans the academic year beginning in August and running through early June, with flexibility around start and end dates to align with school calendar requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and valid NC teaching license with TVI and O&M endorsement
- Proficiency using ECATS for case management and student documentation
- Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments in a school-based setting
- Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
- Resourcefulness and motivation to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional and consultative services for students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and O&M goals
- Assess functional vision, provide recommendations on adaptive equipment and accommodations
- Consult regularly with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards
