Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Teacher for the Visually Impaired licensure/certification
- Current Georgia Educator Certificate
- Ability to deliver Braille instruction (if seeking up to 20 hours/week) or willingness to serve 7-8 hours/week without Brailling duties
- Experience working with visually impaired students strongly recommended
- Comfort with participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and related documentation preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Directly provide TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) services to students on your caseload, ensuring individualized support and access to the curriculum
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams by actively participating in IEP development meetings, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Support instruction in Braille and the expanded core curriculum or general adapted content based on student needs and schedule
- Complete relevant paperwork and records for compliance, including documentation for Medicaid billing where applicable
- Work closely with caregivers and school staff to maximize student engagement, independence, and growth
This role is scheduled from July 31, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering a flexible, part-time commitment—choose 20 hours per week if you are open to providing Braille instruction, or 7-8 hours per week for non-Brailling responsibilities.
