Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required
- Ability to adapt instruction for visually impaired students across various grade levels
- Comfortable traveling between school buildings and, occasionally, providing homebound instruction
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
- Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Develop, modify, and implement educational materials to ensure accessibility
- Work closely with classroom teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, and other team members
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt teaching schedules and locations within the district as needed
- Occasionally deliver instruction in a student’s home environment
