Key Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Experience working with students with visual impairments across various age groups
- Ability to travel within the local area to different school sites as needed
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with school teams and families
- Commitment to adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in one-on-one or small group settings
- Adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for each learner
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback/reports as required
- Provide consultation and advocacy to school staff on best practices for inclusion of visually impaired students
- Travel to multiple locations as part of caseload requirements; provide occasional homebound instruction as assigned
