Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification specific to visual impairment or eligibility for endorsement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or a closely related field
- Experience working with students who are blind or have significant visual impairments in a school or educational setting
- Strong grasp of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum resources
- Outstanding communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to conduct functional vision assessments and create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability in supporting a diverse student population
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to the unique needs and abilities of students with visual impairments
- Develop and modify lesson plans and instructional materials to ensure accessibility and inclusion
