Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Colorado DOE Certification with endorsement for “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)”
- Master’s degree or higher in special education visual impairment or equivalent
- Experience with functional vision assessments and Expanded Core Curriculum
- O&M Certification preferred, not required
- Ability to pass background and fingerprint requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret vision-related assessments for students ages birth to 21
- Develop and implement individualized education programs
- Provide specialized instruction and orientation/mobility services
- Adapt educational materials/environment for visual accessibility
- Collaborate with families, educators, and district teams to ensure student progress
- Maintain compliance with district and state requirements
