Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
  • Experience working with students across K–12 and young adult populations, including direct instructional services
  • Skilled in conducting evaluations and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and accessible curriculum adaptations is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within school teams and with families
  • Comfortable with both virtual and onsite instruction, as needed
  • Commitment to meeting onboarding requirements, including fingerprinting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert instruction and support to a caseload of 9 students with varying visual needs from grades K–21
  • Develop, write, and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals
  • Deliver direct and consultative services across multiple sites (K–Adult Transition)
  • Conduct thorough assessments and make recommendations for appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure accessibility in all learning environments
  • Stay current with best practices and participate in offered district training
