TVI - Fountain, CO
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 school year. This role spans kindergarten through age 21, including K-12 and adult transition students. You’ll work with a small, focused caseload of nine students, providing direct services, conducting evaluations, and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This position offers a unique blend of variety and meaningful impact as you help students thrive across multiple educational environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students with visual impairments, ideally ranging from early childhood to transition-aged youth
- Skilled in performing evaluations and creating IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload across multiple sites
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized support services to students with visual impairments, grades K-21
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Conduct assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for services
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff for inclusive programming
- Participate in school and district meetings as required
- Provide consultation and training to staff and families to support student success
This contract runs from August 10th, 2026, through May 20th, 2027, with a commitment of 20-25 hours per week. School onboarding and fingerprinting are required prior to your start. Interviews will be conducted virtually and decisions are made promptly within 24-48 hours.
