Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience or familiarity with instructional strategies and adaptive technology for students with visual impairments
- Ability to conduct both formal and informal assessments to monitor student achievement and progress
- Previous experience supporting a K-12 population preferred
- Effective communicator (written and verbal) with staff, families, and administration
- Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing a diverse caseload across multiple grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students with visual impairments
- Develop and adapt teaching methods to meet district guidelines and student IEP goals
- Collaborate with educational teams and participate in ARD meetings, presenting evaluation data and individualized plans
- Document ongoing progress and maintain compliance records
- Stay current with best practices in visual impairment education
This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, Monday through Friday, with a standard full-time schedule (37.5 hours weekly). Three openings are available for dedicated professionals ready to make a real difference.
