Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) required
- Demonstrated experience utilizing specialized instructional strategies and methodologies for students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of techniques, resources, and materials tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
- Familiarity with ongoing assessment practices, including formal and informal student evaluation
- Comfortable participating in and contributing meaningfully to ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
- Previous experience supporting students across elementary, middle, or high school levels preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver personalized instructional programs in accordance with district standards
- Assess student progress continually to inform instructional adjustments
- Maintain thorough documentation and prepare required reports
- Participate in ARD meetings as an advocate for your students
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and service providers to further students’ educational goals
- Provide guidance on classroom materials and technology modifications
