Key Qualifications:
- Certified as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Demonstrated experience applying instructional methods appropriate for visually impaired students, in accordance with district requirements
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Comfort working with a diverse caseload spanning elementary through high school ages
- Commitment to ongoing assessment and individualized educational planning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments, using approved curriculum and methodology
- Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments to track student achievement and adjust instruction as needed
- Prepare for, participate in, and follow up on ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings relevant to student progress
- Collaborate with other educators, staff, and families to support student success
