Qualifications:
- Active Indiana state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong grasp of IEPs, assistive technology, and special accommodations for visually impaired students
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across K-12 (caseload specifics to be shared during interview)
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with educational staff and families
- Introduce and monitor assistive technology and adaptive devices to foster greater independence
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related services to support student access in traditional classrooms
- Track and report student progress, ensuring objectives and goals are met
- Serve as a resource and advocate for visually impaired students within the school community
