Make a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments by providing expert support and guidance over a full academic year on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work near Indianapolis, IN, with a commitment of 35 hours per week. Desired Qualifications:
- Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience is preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Experience with assistive technology and classroom accommodations for students with visual impairments
- Exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student
- Recommend and support the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials
- Provide training and consultative support to teachers and staff regarding best practices
- Advocate for students’ needs and ensure an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and assist with assessment as required
