What you’ll bring:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (required)
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
- Familiarity with educational assessment tools, including both formal and informal methods
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans based on student needs and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and participating in ARD meetings
Your role will include:
- Delivering instruction to students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Adapting curriculum materials and employing strategies tailored to meet unique visual needs in the classroom
- Conducting ongoing assessments of student progress and achievement to inform instructional planning
- Preparing for and actively contributing to ARD meetings, ensuring comprehensive student support
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation aligned with district and state requirements
- Engaging in professional development and staying current with best practices in visual impairment education
This full-time contract position runs from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week) and three openings available. You’ll have the fulfilling experience of working within a diverse team, supporting students as they achieve important educational milestones.
