The assignment covers the complete 26-27 academic year, running from August 19th through June 4th, 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive braille transcription and adaptation of academic materials for a high school student.
- Adjust complex visual content and class resources to accessible formats.
- Collaborate closely with educators and staff to ensure the student’s curriculum is accessible and aligned with course requirements.
- Support the student’s academic growth and engagement within a mainstream educational setting.
- Maintain careful organization of adapted resources and braille materials throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated experience supporting students or children as a Braillist or Visually Impaired Teacher, preferably in a school setting.
- Advanced proficiency in braille and material adaptation.
- Strong attention to detail when converting visuals and educational content to braille or other accessible forms.
- Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills to work with educational teams.
- No specific credential or degree required for this role.
