Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with visual impairments in an educational environment
- Solid understanding of functional academic adaptations, Braille instruction, and assistive technology
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to a caseload of 20-23 students with varying visual and educational needs
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding strategies, accommodations, and best practices for visually impaired learners
- Maintain thorough records and documentation to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development as required
