1:1 1:1 Pediatric TVI - Hartford, CT

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) is required
- Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students, especially in school settings, strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of specialized instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 instruction to a student with visual impairment, supporting both academic and functional skill development
- Adapt classroom materials and curriculum to meet individual student needs, in collaboration with school staff
- Implement and track progress on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and educational teams to maximize student outcomes
- Employ assistive technology and accessible instructional resources
