Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year operating Braille typing equipment
- Certification as a Braille transcriber preferred
- Experience with school-aged children beneficial
- Ability to collaborate with Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVIs)
Role Responsibilities:
- Convert printed educational materials, tests, textbooks, and classroom handouts into Braille
- Ensure all Braille materials align with curricular standards and meet students’ individual needs
- Work in concert with TVIs to provide academic equity for visually impaired students
- Manage full-time hours through the academic year (mid-August to June)
- Primary assignment within a dynamic secondary academy environment
