Qualifications & Preferred Background:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience working with K-12 students
- Knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology
- Proficiency in conducting student assessments, both formal and informal
- Comfort navigating ARD meetings and documentation required by the district
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative work ethic
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective instruction and adapt teaching methods in accordance with district guidelines
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Engage in continuous assessment of student progress and adjust approaches as needed
- Prepare materials and reports for and participate actively in ARD meetings
- Work alongside general and special education staff to ensure holistic student support
- Manage a caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high-school-aged learners
