Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana state license in Visual Impairment (VI) required
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in school settings
- Deep understanding of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and specialized materials for low vision
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, families, and related service professionals
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet unique student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 instruction to a 10th-grade student in alignment with their individualized education plan
- Assess and implement appropriate assistive technology and low vision tools
- Collaborate with general education staff to support classroom modifications and accessible curriculum
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to support academic and social-emotional growth
- Serve as an advocate for student access, inclusion, and self-advocacy skills
